Educator Michelle Lordi  is an experienced educator in both traditional and non-traditional environments. Lordi  was a Teaching Artist with the Kimmel Center's Jazz Standards program in 2017- 2018 , bringing jazz education into the classroom  for students in the Philadelphia School system. Her students successfully wrote & performed their original lyrics to McCoy Tyner’s “ Blues on the Corner “ at the Merriam Theatre. Lordi  directed a workshop on songwriting  for  Summer Writing Retreat at Bryn Athyn College ( 8/2018). Lordi also  taught vocals  for the Paul Green School of Rock for children  ages 8 -18. In 2008, Michelle was chosen to tour with the All Stars (the top 3% of PGSORM students from across the country) in the US and Canada as their vocal and performance coach. Lordi coached students on challenging vocal material including the music of Frank Zappa, Queen and Yes for live performances in the US and Canada with Jon Anderson (Yes) Adrian Belew (Zappa, Talking Heads, Bowie, King Crimson) Napoleon Murphy Brock ( Zappa), John Wetton  (Lead singer/bassist of King Crimson/ ASIA) Ike Willis ( Zappa) and Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic, Talking Heads). A natural teacher, Lordi’s passion for music is contagious.  Much like in her professional music career, as a teacher, she  has an innate ability for insightful connection with her students, and uses this skill to draw out their best performances.
